For this week’s discussion, I will focus on an article from New York Times featuring how the fight against malaria has reached a halt. Similarly, the article demonstrates that while there are attempts to fight malaria endemic, it is a threat to public health (McNeil, 2018). Based on the article, countries like Ethiopia and Rwanda have attempted to reduce malaria. However, Madagascar, Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Fasso, and Nigeria are not protecting their citizens from malaria. For instance, as of 2016, there were 1.3 million malaria cases in Nigeria, representing a quarter of global malaria cases (McNeil, 2018).
